Instagram does not let you select caption text on many posts. Paste the public link instead and copy the caption, including a Reel or photo caption.
How Instagram caption copy works
Step 1
Copy the Instagram link
On the post, Reel, or photo, open Share and copy the link. Profile links and private accounts will not work.
Step 2
Paste only that Instagram URL
This page accepts instagram.com links to a post, Reel, or photo. A TikTok or YouTube link is sent to the matching tool.
Step 3
Copy the caption or the hashtags
Copy the full caption, only the hashtag chips, or both. Line breaks and emoji stay as they were on the post.
Questions
Can I copy an Instagram Reel caption by link?
Yes. Paste the public Reel link. The result is the caption text, which is the same path used for a photo or a regular post.
Does photo caption copy work?
A public photo post link is supported. Paste the URL that contains /p/ and the caption is returned as text.
Why can't I select the caption in the Instagram app?
The Instagram app often blocks text selection on captions. A link-based caption copy skips that selection step.
Are hashtags included?
Hashtags that are part of the caption are kept in the text and also listed as chips you can copy on their own.
What if the account is private?
Private posts are not available. Caption Copy only reads public links and does not ask you to log in.
Can I save the caption on my phone?
This page copies the text. The Caption Copy Android app can keep a saved list and can be opened from Instagram's share sheet.
